ABSTRACT
The youth globally are recognized as a redoubtable and crucial segment of the population of every society whose dynamism and energies are essential in the process of achieving economic development. Unfortunately, in most countries of the globe , leaders fails to embrace the youth as a core factor in its developmental aspiration. This negligence of leaders has resulted to a problem which has continue to bedevil any attempt to achieve economic development. Self evidently, youth Unemployment has resulted from the irresponsiveness and incompetence of leaders to fully harness the advantageous potentials and dynamism which comes with this significant group. This problem pose a limitation to the social cum economic sector leading to poverty, recession , low gross domestic income and so on. The inefficiency of leadership to administer the affairs of state is synonymous to corruption, self centeredness, egoism and mismanagement which has robbed most nation of the economic benefit they ought to enjoy. Seeing the amount of damage failed leadership has caused to the economy, this work considers transformational leadership as a panacea to solving this problem which has halted economic development. Sequence to the above, using the critical analytic method of philosophy is the inevitable role philosophy, a reflection, conceptual and an eye-opening study can play in enwisdoming leaders with the adequate rationale that may guide them towards making decision that put an end to these problems.
