ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to examine workplace ethics as a panacea for employees’ job performance. The study was conducted in Independent Television (ITV) and Radio, Benin-City, with the use of questionnaire and interview to collect data that was statistically analyzed. The sampled size used by the researcher for the study was 98 and the methodology adopted was the use of simple percentage tables and Chi-square. The study revealed that Workplace ethics afford job holders to discharge his/her duties in a more focused and rational sense without fear or favour, Workplace ethics boost Independent Television and Radios’ image both among its employees, workers and externally, workplace ethics encourage self-discipline in an organization and the findings also revealed that provision of ethical policies that will enhance an effective communication mechanism among providing channels for conflict resolution and developing mutual trust. The study recommends that encourage input throughout the organization regarding appropriate values and practices for implementing the cultures. Choose values that represent the views of employees at all levels of the organization. Ensure that a whistle-blowing and/or ethical concerns procedure is established for internal problem solving and provide workplace ethics training programs for all employees. These programs should explain the underlying ethical and legal principles and present practical aspects of carrying our procedural guidelines.
