ABSTRACT
This study focused at examining the effect of work environment on employees’ performance, examining the physical work environment in the hotel industry. Other objectives are to determine the effect of supervision/supervisor support on employee performance in the hotel industry, to investigate the effect of communication/ interpersonal relationship on employee performance in the hotel industry, to analyze the effect of job aid on employee performance in the hotel industry and to investigate whether work life balance influences employee performance in the hotel industry. Questionnaire was used as an instrument of data collection in study, the respondent consists of 200 Hotel employees in Benin City. Data from the answered questionnaires in this study was analyzed by using percentages, and also regression result was also use in this study for hypothesis testing with the use of Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26. The findings of the study showed that a good relationship between employee and Supervision/supervisor support increase the employee performance in in an organization, a very good communication/ interpersonal relationship within employee can influence employee performance in the hotel industry, job aid was found to have influence and impact on employee performance in any organization, another factor that was discovered was that work life balance influences employee performance in the hotel industry. The work therefore recommends that managers and coordinator of any organization should create a good relationship between superior and subordinate that can increase organization performance and also manager and supervisor should create room for a good communication/ interpersonal relationship within employee as this can influence employee performance.
