ABSTRACT
This study of all about vote buying and democratic consolidation on Nigeria. A case study of the 2019 general election in delta state, it ascertain and identify the causes of vote buying in Delta State. It Describes the major forms of vote buying and related threat to democratic governance It also identify the effects of vote buying on democratic governance in Delta State and suggest ways of reducing vote buying in Nigeria. The stratified Random Sampling Technique was used in selection 100 respondents, both male and female for the study. The findings of the study revealed that reason agencies need to collaborate with banks and other financial institutions to monitor the movement of cash during elections. Also essential is a culture of democratic citizenship that begins with a citizenry that is ready to insist on credible and transparent elections.
