ABSTRACT

The study assessed the vocational and Technical Aspiration of Senior Secondary School girls in Delta North Senatorial District, Delta State. Four research questions were raised to guide the study and two null hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance for the study. The population of the study was 530 final students. The sample of the study was 159 this represent 30% of female students. The descriptive survey design was used for the study. Questionnaire was the instrument used for data collection. The instrument used was validated by three experts. Cronbach alpha method was used to compute reliability of the instrument which yielded correlation coefficient of 0.89. Data collected was analysed using two sample independence t-test. From the result of the analysis, it was discovered that vocational and technical aspiration of senior secondary school girls in Delta North Senatorial District on accountancy vocation, electrical technology, computer technology and Business Education is enhance to a high extent. There was no significance difference in the mean rating of Urban and Rural vocational aspiration. Consequently, it was recommended that the school management should give attention to girls child education as it relate to their vocation. Finally, Government should put more effort to provide vocational centres in secondary school so as to instil electrical technology specifically for the female gender.
