ABSTRACT
The study determines the views of public relation in peace building in Edo State . It aimed at ascertaining the impact of public relations through effective activities in promoting peace and harmony in the society. The study is anchored on Systems theory and Transfer model theory. Using the survey research design, questionnaire was employed to elicit data from 230 public relations practitioners in Edo state. The findings revealed that public relations is highly relevant in the society in peacebuilding initiatives. From the research finding, it showed that Benin residents are aware of the Public relations activities . Thus this study concludes that Public relations activities are indeed necessary and relevant in the society for peace building, hence it was recommended that government should endeavor to use public relations effectively to promote peace in the society.
