The study adopted the descriptive survey design. The population of the study were twenty (20) primary schools and hundred (100) teachers in Eredo and Epe, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State. A sample of hundred (100) teachers was used for the study and a well structured questionnaire was used to collect data for the study. The data was analysed using frequency counts, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The finding shows a significant relationship between the teacher's, parents, as well as caregivers choice of words and verbal communication and the ripple impact it has on children and their overall development. It was therefore recommended that primary classroom teachers should be tutored on verbal communication by experts to help their classroom communication; use of derogatory words during the teaching and learning process should be completely avoided; good semantics should be employed during the learning process; emphasis should be placed on giving seminars and talks to teachers who handle early childhood classes.
