ABSTRACT

This research work was designed to investigate instructional strategies as a support mechanism for adult learners with disabilities in Egor local government of Edo State. To achieve the objective of this study, several author's views were reviewed, Adult literacy centers were selected in Egor local government, descriptive and inferential statistics survey research design was used, four research questions were raised and tested in order to obtain relevant information concerning the issue of study, seventy six adult learners were selected as the sample of the population. Questionnaire were used to collect data, frequency counts, simple percentage, mean score and standard deviation were used to analyze the data collected to obtain meaningful results. From the results it was discovered that employing varied instructional strategies, multimedia presentation will enhance motivation and engagement among adult learners with disabilities. There is much significance in engaging instructional strategy for adult learners with disabilities, it addresses barriers hindering the effective use of instructional strategies and facilitate effective teaching and learning experiences for adult learners, negative attitudes, stereotype towards disabilities creates barriers to inclusion and equal participation in instructional activities for adult learners with disabilities in Egor local government area of Edo State
