ABSTRACT
This study investigates the role of adult education programmes in improving the productivity of rural farmers in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Nigeria.
With a focus on enhancing agricultural output and livelihoods, the research delves into the effectiveness of tailored adult educational interventions aimed at equipping farmers with essential knowledge and skills. Through a mixed-methods approach involving surveys, interviews, the study examines the current educational background of farmers, assesses the impact of adult education programs on their agricultural practices and productivity levels, and identifies the challenges and opportunities encountered in implementing such initiatives. By exploring the dynamics of adult education initiatives customized to meet the specific needs of rural farmers, this research aims to provide valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders seeking to advance sustainable agricultural development in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area.
The findings of this study contribute to the ongoing discourse on harnessing adult education programmes to empower rural farmers and enhance the economic prosperity of the community.
