ABSTRACT

This study determined the effect of utilization of information and communication technology on teaching business education in Nigerian Universities in Edo State. Four research questions were raised to guide the study. The population of the study comprised three hundred and thirty-seven (337) Business education students from 100 to 400 level in the 2022/2023 academic session in Universities in Edo state, Nigeria. The population of the study comprised one hundred (100) Business education students from 100 to 400 level in the 2022/2023 academic session in Universities in Edo state, Nigeria. Proportionate sampling technique was used to determine the sample size of the study. The instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire titled “the Utilization of Information and Communication Technology for Teaching Business Education in Universities Questionnaire (UICTTBEUQ)”. This instrument was developed by the researcher to elicit the objective opinions of the respondents on the information and communication technology utilization by Business Education lecturers for effective instructional deliveries. The questionnaire was segmented into two main parts: A and B. Part A of the questionnaire was designed to elicit personal information of the respondents such as age, sex and educational status. Part B was comprised of sixteen (16) items which four items were raised each research questions. The instrument for data collection was subjected to face validity by the researcher supervisor and two other experts in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education, Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin city, Edo State. To establish the reliability of the instrument that was used for the study, split half method was employed by using the Cronbach alpha statistic.
