ABSTRACT
Several continuous probability distributions have been introduced in literature to tackle problem of failures by operational systems. The distributions are classified as classical and modified or generalized distribution. Some of the classical distributions iinclude Normal, Lomax, Burr, Gompertz, Gumbel and Weibull distributions. Weibull distribution is a probability distribution used to model life time data. In this work Weibull distribution will be discussed as it relates to its statistical properties and parameter estimation. The applications of this distribution are considered with the aid of numerical illustrations. Some statistical properties of the distribution will be used for numerical analyses to determine if the data fits the model used.
