Electrical resistivity method was used in exploring for aquifer/water bearing formation in University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The major instrument used was the PASI EARTH METER for collecting surface data using the Wenner Alpha electrode configuration. This array was employed in view of its reliability, easy operation and cost effectiveness. The data were processed and interpreted using the computer iteration technique RES2DINV.The results show that aquifer exists at a depth of 45m in UBTH with personal collaboration with the local drillers. The near surface materials, up to a depth of about 10m, have moderately low resistivity range of 10Ωm-150Ωm which indicates the presence of sand. It can be seen that confine aquifer have a thick layers and by extension into the earth surface which show that the study area has a good potential for ground water utilization for domestic, agriculture and industrial purpose.
