ABSTRACT
This Research work discussed the way of estimating the multiple linear regression and Logistic Binary regression models which include the independent qualitative variables by using the dummy variable or indicator of (0,1) method. Introducing a case study of factors influencing student’s academic performances, we conducted an analysis on 101 students of Physical sciences faculty, University of Benin, Ugbowo. The analysis was conducted using SPSS software based on variables such as gender, monthly income allowances, lecturer’s effectiveness, parent’s education, eading habit and if they engage in Extracurricular activities.
The approach via logistic regression is done to study the results of those that engage in extracurricular activities, we used the logistic binary regression method because we predicted an outcome that was dichotomous/binary (Yes or No) in the analysis.
