ABSTRACT
The focus of this study was to examine the user’s perspective about economic activities on the pedestrian bridge on Benin- Lagos expressway. To enable the study achieve its objectives, five research questions were raised. The major instrument for the data collection for the study was self- constructed questionnaire. A total of one hundred and seventy users including traders, selected from one thousand and five hundred population sample for the study. Data collected were analyzed using frequency count, simple percentage and mean score, standard to analyze the collected data.
Findings from the study revealed that the various economic activities on the pedestrian bridge are selling snacks, beverages or local specialities, selling of house hold products like shoes and clothes as well as service like art work and POS.
Based on the findings, it was recommended that there are safety measures such as proper lighting, railways and pedestrian walkways to enhance pedestrian’s safety. Proper education on the use of pedestrian bridge for economic activities, which improve the environment and overall experience.
