ABSTRACT
Students in federal universities have difficulties fully assimilating course content from the classroom. This is due to several factors which include; overpopulated classrooms, low attentiveness, bulky and complex textbooks and learning materials, among others. However, there is a desire to learn and understand what is being taught in class. Students need a means to learn at a pace that will maximize assimilation and understanding. This research work encompasses understanding student needs and problems and how best an e-learning platform built specifically with students in mind can present a solution that enhances assimilation, retention, and ultimately, improvements in academic performance.
