ABSTRACT
This study investigates the usage of mobile phones and its health implications on students at the University of Benin. Five research questions were formulated to guide the study, addressing various aspects of mobile phone usage and its effects on students' well-being. The sample comprised one hundred respondents drawn from diverse academic disciplines, including political science, economics and statistics, sociology and anthropology, as well as students residing in hostel accommodations at halls 4 and 5. Additionally, an online survey was conducted using the Surveyheart app to gather data from a wider audience. Data analysis was conducted using tabulation and simple percentage techniques to explore patterns and trends in mobile phone usage among students and its potential health consequences. The findings of this study provide insights into the complex relationship between mobile phone usage and student health, contributing to a deeper understanding of this prevalent phenomenon in university settings.
