ABSTRACT
This essay has examined tyranny and its effects especially on the masses in Okay Ndibe's Arrows of Rain and Helon Habila's Waiting for an Angel. We have seen how Okey Ndibe and Helon Habila have invested skill and competence with mastery of language to capture the post colonial eras of their depicted society. We have also seen the clarity, intentionality and audacity with which they both reveal the military regime and the evils that pervaded the era.
