ABSTRACT
This research is to examine the translation of technical terms in Ẹdo language by using the dynamic translation equivalence proposed by Nida in his work of translation of a bible in 1964, to get the equivalent effect of the technical terms there are some techniques and procedures used such as borrowing, compounding, transposition, amplification and description, the need for development of a language like Ẹdo calls for the constant creation of lexical items by lexicographers. This work brought out the challenges of translating terms that are used in various fields such as health, business, arts, religions, and other areas. It also gave some possible solutions to translation challenges, these solutions are calque, borrowing, transposition, amplification, adaptation, among others. There are positive effects of translating technical terms in a language, this research also identified some of these effects and what brought about these effects.
