TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM: USING EDO STATE TRAFFIC CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT AGENCY AS A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT

 A drastic increase in the number of vehicles on the road has happened over the years leading to congestion in traffic. This has become a growing problem affecting every car owner in their day to day activities. The majors put in place to decongest car traffic like the manual police traffic control system and other traffic controls have not proved efficient in all cases of predefined signal time (low and high traffic density).This application was developed to enable the traffic agency take proper control of traffic situation in the state. The system was built to allow users take pictures and send there port to a central database. In developing this system, architectural design, database design, UML class diagrams and human interface design were used. The tools that were used to develop this system are Java, PHP, JavaScript, MySQL, Html, CSS, Ajax. The developed system; being modular does not just meet the needs of a specific state, but can be adapted and used by other states in the Nigeria.
