TIME SERIES ANALYSIS AND ITS APPLICATION: A CASE STUDY OF THE QUARTERLY SALES OF HOUSEHOLD KEROSENE (HHK) BY NNPC

ABSTRACT

Time series analysis was used to analyze the quarterly sales of household kerosene (HHK)by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).The data which was collected from the Annual Statistical Bulletin of the corporation, showed an upward trend,seasonal variation, cyclical variation andirregular variation whichwereall computed   from the analysis. Forecasting was made using the Simple Linear Regression Model anditwasfoundtobeaverysuitable toolformaking future predictions.
