ABSTRACT
Drama and theatre practice is regarded as trivial in the society and so it isn't seen as a way for enhancing child development. This study shows the role of drama in development and investigates the effect of drama and theatre practice for child development. The experience of the pupils of Uniben Consultancy Primary School with theatre practice and drama was used as a case study for the analysis of this research. This research examines the effects, problems and prospects of drama and theatre practice for child development. This study recommends that drama be used as a method in working with children and drama should be inculcated in the basic education curriculum.
