ABSTRACT

The study sought to show marketing as an essential and useful part to the arts, especially the theatre, be it profit taking or otherwise. Marketing facilitates exchanges between the product or service provider and the consumer of such product or service. This research study employ the survey design with a 19 item questionnaire as it is its instrument to elicit broad responses from a sample of 90 respondents of both students and theatre practitioners. Findings from the research through the use of questionnaires showed the effect of marketing on a theatrical production. Without marketing a theatre cannot survive. This work recommended that a theatre marketer should employ various tactics and strategies in other to promote an effective theatrical production.
