THEATRE MANAGEMENT AS A STRATEGY FOR DEVELOPING LEADERSHIP SKILLS

ABSTRACT

This research explored the utilization of theatre management as an innovative approach to foster leadership skill development among university students. The study recognized the growing demand for well-rounded leaders who possess not only academic knowledge but also practical skills in leadership. It investigates how immersive experiences in theatre management can enhance students' leadership abilities. Preliminary findings suggest that theatre management offers a unique platform for students to develop crucial leadership skills, such as effective communication, collaboration, adaptability, and creativity. Through active participation in various aspects of theatre production and management, students gain insights into decision-making, problem-solving, and team dynamics. The study also explores the potential transferability of these skills to other academic and real world contexts.The research contributes to the evolving discourse on leadership education by showcasing the effectiveness of theatre management as a pedagogical tool. The results shed light on the transformative potential of experiential learning and provide practical recommendations for educators and institutions aiming to enrich their leadership development programs.
