ABSTRACT
This research work underscored the relationship between Theatre and education; the intrinsic benefits of that relationship to the growth of a child, and the quality of child representation permeating all through Theatre in Education. It also outlines some of the factors that can result in cognitive and psychological duress in children. For the research, information was gotten from Internet blogs, websites, journals, articles and literary works of people involved in education, as well as those who are TIE practitioners. The most important finding made was that TIE is child-based, and addresses issues of cognitive, emotional and psychological importance to the child (issues that are not talked about openly, because of how sensitive they are). This study recommended that Schools encourage TIE because it is a refreshing approach to teaching and learning. Another recommendation was; schools should not shy away from the struggles of children, no matter how uncomfortable they are. Conclusively, the practice of TIE is a win-win venture for both the child and the school, because it benefits the child tremendously when they are actively involved in the learning process. The school is also able to meet it's goals and objectives of creating good leaders of tomorrow.
