ABSTRACT

The study examined the utilization of ICT in learning delivery in adult literacy center in Benin Metropolis.Four research questions were raised to guide the study, and tge descriptive survey research design was adopted as tge design of the study. The population of the study consists of all students and staffs in the adult literacy center which is two hundred and seventy-two (272). One hundred and twenty (120) were selected as sample using convenient sampling technique. A self-designed questionnaire was the instrument which was validated and tested for reliability using the expert judgement approach and test re-test method respectively. The validated instrument was admitted, collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings of the study revealed that Adult literacy centres administrators in Benin Metropolis should provide comprehensive training programmes to enhance their knowledge and skills in utilizing ICT tools for adult literacy education. The study therefore concludes that the facilitator/instructors should be educated and trained on how to use the various ICT tools for teaching the adult learners to enhance high participation of the learner in the adult literacy centre. It was recommended that Adult literacy centres administrators in Benin Metropolis should provide comprehensive training programmes to enhance their knowledge and skills in utilizing ICT tools for adult literacy education. Also the facilitators of the Adult literacy centres should encourage the adoption of a wider range of ICT tools, including projectors and audiovisual aids, to diversify teaching methods and make learning more engaging and among others.
