Summary

The main goal was to examine the influence, use, and limitations of mass media among Nigerian women in rural areas. The straightforward random sampling technique was used in this investigation. An online survey was distributed, and 150 people responded, according to calculations. Simple descriptive statistics like frequency distribution tables and percentages were employed in the examination of the data that was gathered. According to the survey, women made up the majority (88.8%) of the sampled respondents in the study area. The majority of respondents, according to the study's findings, were between the ages of 26 and 35; 83% were unmarried; and 53% had successfully completed their secondary education.. The majority of the rural women were traders and farmers, and 92 percent of them had access to and ownership of radios, along with 34% of them.

According to the study's findings, 72% of respondents were able to use mass media tools on a daily basis, albeit for brief intervals, as a result of network and electrical outages. However, 38.9 percent acknowledged having watched media programs on learning new skills, which had a significant impact on their decisions about trades and how to run their small companies.

According to the research, the mass media is a potent tool for spreading information. Use of mass media in rural areas is consequently unavoidable in order to disseminate timely, pertinent, and high-quality information.
