ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to determine the subsurface resistivity distribution from a 2-D imaging survey and the lithology of the study area. This work was carried out at College Of Education in Abudu in Orhiomwon Local Government Area of Edo State.

Wenner array profiling method was used as a survey technique to give information about lateral changes in the subsurface resistivity, from these measurements the true resistivity of the subsurface was determine by inversion of the measured apparent resistivity values using computer inversion software (RES2DINV).

The result showed some buried subsurface deposit from the survey and the tomography images of the sub-surface shows that some of the likely rocks found and their various resistivities as well as their depth are between resistivity values of 500-1000 Ohm-m. The lithology of the study area is good for engineering purpose and construction work.
