ABSTRACT
This study examines the use of visual literacy in enhancing learning for the disadvantaged groups. The data was obtain through the use of questionnaires, where four (4) research questions were raised to guide the study. The target population of the study includes parents, teachers, and students of six (6) randomly selected schools in Ego Local Government Area. The target sample size of this study was a total num5 of Two Hundred and Three (203) respondents within the area of the Study. Which represents (10%) of Two Thousand and Nineteen (2019) students from government senior secondary school selected using a simple random sampling technique. The questionnaire was designed and validated by experts in the department of Adult and Non-Formal Education, Faculty of Education, University of Benin. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques such as tables, frequencies, and simple percentages. Findings of the study revealed that visual literacy playa a crucial role in addressing barriers to comprehension and retention among disadvantaged learners. It was observed that, educators in Egor Local Government Area have found online visual literacy tools to be highly effective in overcoming learning obstacles for disadvantaged groups. That by using Visuals such as videos, info graphics and interactive simulation can Carter for the different type of learners and help bridge the gap for students facing challenges.
