ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to determine the subsurface resistivity distribution from a 2-D imaging survey and the lithology of the study area. wenner Alpha array profiling method was used as a survey technique to give information about lateral changes in the subsurface resistivity, from these measurements the true resistivity of the subsurface was determine by inversion of the measured apparent resistivity values using computer inversion software (RES2DINV). This work was carried out at the university of Benin golf course in Ovia-North East Local Government Area of Edo State. The result showed some buried subsurface deposit from the survey and the tomography images of the sub-surface shows that some of the likely rocks found and their various resistivities as well as their depth are between resistivity values of 500-1000, we have limestone with a depth of 10.2m, resistivity value between 2000-3000 is Quartz, Marble at a depth of 26.8m, and Also Sandstone and granite were found between 3500-6500 at a depth of 50m.The lithology of the study area is good for engineering purpose and construction work.
