ABSTRACT
This work “The Use of Pidgin English in the Mass Media” seeks to highlight the various roles Pidgin play on the mass media. Its objective is to educate people on the huge roles pidgin plays in the mass media. At the end of this research, it would be show clearly the place of pidgin in educative programs, social programs, informative programs and also we would be able to see that these programs has generated to much interest because of the use of pidgin language.
The framework of this research is the ethnography of communication framework which is a framework use to study the interactions among members of a speech community.
The first chapter introduces us to the concept of pidgin and the mass media, their definition, theories about the origin of pidgin.
Chapter two is a review of relevant literature on the research work.
Chapter three deals with the framework use in the research work which is the ethnography of communication and how it works.
Chapter four is concerned with the Data and the analysis.
Chapter five is the summary, recommendation and the conclusion of the research work.
