THE USE OF METAL IN HIGH QUALITY DESIGN FABRICATION.

ABSTRACT

The essence of this project is to renovate the 300/400 Level Metal Design Studio to produce a functional metal door aluminium window with nets and shelves with aesthetics. The research work essentially highlights the manipulations of materials (wood, metals, glass)

For the production of the metal door, aluminium window and shelves the researcher used arc cutting welding method as a means of decorative technique for the fabrication. The use of Copper that was etched “METAL DESIGN UNIT” was employed. Materials used includes wrought iron, wood, glass, copper, rods, pipes, flat bar etc.

The research of the study entails that metal can be used to achieve high quality design and fabrication in relation to functionality and aesthetic purposes and it can be used to create accurate and beautiful designs
