ABSTRACT
This work is focused on the indirectness and politeness strategies in the use oral communication by women in iheivbe-ogbe language. It is a linguistic and cultural phenomenon, and also how it is employed in our communication in various strategies. This research work is as a result of the researchers desire to contribute and illustrate the various ways indirectness and politeness strategies is used in iheivbe-ogbe language. This study aims at bringing the different types of strategies used indirectly and politely in the language. The researcher method of data collection was in two ways one of the method was by oral interview of competent speakers of iheivbe language and the second method was by articles, journals, the internet, and library was also extensively used for the research of this work.
