ABSTRACT
This project aims at evaluating the benefits of geotextile in road construction which the specific objectives include to classify the available geosynthetics in the country, to evaluate the benefits of use of geotextile in road construction in comparison to normal road without geotextile, to analyze the results and make appropriate recommendation for optimal use increase the stability of strength of soil and to reduce the construction cost. The results gathered from the experiment was carried out by various scopes which include Atterberg limit test, liquid limit test, plastic limit test, Moisture Contents and specific gravity The results shows that geotextiles tend to have appreciable strength when compared with unreinforced road, it was agreed that geosynthentic offers wide variety of products to solve many geotechnical problems being non-bio degrable and costly.
