ABSTRACT
This project delves into the significance of character flaws in shaping narratives, exploring how flawed characters contribute to the development of empathy, understanding, and moral growth among viewers. Through an analysis of August Wilson’s play “Fences”, this research highlights the impact of flawed characters in reflecting societal issues and fostering community engagement. By examining the role of character flaws as a lens for exploring human nature and societal dynamics, this study sheds light on the transformative potential of storytelling in promoting empathy, social awareness, and creative problem-solving.
