ABSTRACT

In an era marked by rapid digital transformation and evolving audience preferences, the integration of traditional theater productions into the digital realm holds significant promise. This research delves into the transmedial adaptation of 'Drums of War' by Bakare Ojo, a classic Nigerian theatrical production, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional theater and modern digital experiences. The study employs a qualitative research approach engaging in textual analysis to explore the potential of adapting 'Drums of War' to digital platforms, particularly focusing on social media. The research design and methodology align with the objectives of comprehensively understanding transmediality and its implications on traditional theater, paving the way for a deeper understanding of how the integration of social media can enhance audience engagement, accessibility, and cultural preservation. This work does not only addresses the technical aspects of transmedial adaptation but also explores the societal and cultural impact, shedding light on the transformative potential of merging agortistic forms with contemporary digital platform.
