This work examines the Tigray Crisis from 1978-2020. It focuses on revealing the origin of the Tigray Conflict, the root causes of the Tigray Conflict, as well as the politics of Ethiopia. Most Scholars believe that Ethiopia is Africa's oldest independent country, while other scholars still assert that it was the country that was never colonized. It is rather unfortunate to state that whatever story surrounding the existence of Ethiopia, it was also one of the countries caught up in the Web of Civil wars that has ravaged the African Countries like Nigeria, Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, among others.

In the case of Ethiopia, it can be said that that civil has been one of the longest in Africa located in the Horn of Africa and with a population of about 112 million people, Eritrea, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan, and Sudan all border Ethiopia.1 It is a country made up of 10 regions under a federal system in which different ethnic groups control their affairs. One of such group was the Tigray people.2 Historians have suggested that the root cause of the crisis or perhaps the factors that strengthened the crisis was this system of government. The problem started when the system of government could not cater for the needs of every region, adding to this problem, some region felt been marginalized and therefore decided to fight the Ethiopia government in search for Justice and equal rights. This created the bedrock that brought the TPLF in war with the Ethoipian government
