ABSTRACT
This study attempts to critically examines the socio-structural foundation of the Nigerian youth crisis, using Frantz Fanon violence theory. From Fanon’s theory, it is evident that crisis in Nigeria are tools against oppressive leadership, in the other hand, government empowerment of the youth is a strategy to reduce their oppressive hands on the youth. Social crisis such as poverty, unemployment, gender discrimination, class competition etc area either directly or indirectly connected to universal issues. Being a universal phenomenon, it simply indicates that no human society is immune to social problems nonetheless, constant effects are made to tackle them in every generation. The finding of this research indicates that inspite of the prevalence of crisis in Nigeria, a consistent youth empowerment program can help in curbing and managing crisis in Nigeria. It also reveals that violence in Nigeria, shakes the foundation of unity and stability of the nation. Moreso, it also reveals that there are weak socio-structural institutions in managing youth crisis in Nigeria. Based on the findings of this study, it can be recommended that the Nigerian government should put in place tools for fighting against prevailing social issues before they degenerate to crisis and it also advocate that the youth should be gainfully employed by getting involved into vocational and benefiting ventures.
