ABSTRACT
This study investigates the socio-political and economic activities, delving into the passing on of Amasiri's culture and traditions across successive generations. Throughout this investigation, a comprehensive analysis of the socio-political and economic landscape of the Amasiri community has been examined. Exploring the historical origins and present-day manifestations of Amasiri's social, political and economic activities has revealed an interesting story of growth and adaptation against an ever-changing cultural background. Tracing the growth of Amasiri's economic endeavours reveals that the shift from an agrarian-based economy to the incorporation of mining and commerce operations has significantly impacted the community's history.
