Summary
In the study, we have attempted to identify and examine the effect of unemployment among youth in Edo State. From the results obtained, and the data analyzed from the study our results are summarized as follows: There is a significant relationship between youth unemployment and level of Education in Edo State which reveals that a large proportion of youth in Benin City who are uneducated find it difficult to secure employment,. It was observed also that youth unemployment in the state has also affected both the individual, family, community, society and government and has hindered the socio-economic growth and development of the state thereby challenging the leadership and people of Benin City as it brings about poverty, high crime rate and deviant behaviour which results in death. It was observed that social workers play active roles in discharging plans and care for unemployed youth and also social workers create public awareness on consequences of youth unemployment.
