From the analysis, the findings from the study revealed that rape has a negative impact on the psycho-social well-being of the victim; forced sex is intended to abuse and humiliate the victim; rape does dehumanizes the victim; if a rape victim wants to complain, she should not be shut out simply because she is married, and that marital rape can be the most tarrying event in a woman’s life.

The study also revealed that rape among couple has a negative impact on marital survival, as most of the respondents agreed with the statement; marital rape could be the most traumatic invasion one person can inflict on other; marital rape is a violence and terror masquerading as passion; women who are routinely raped by their spouses are not always vulnerable to repeated assaults and sexual invasion, and that marital rape can lead to divorce.
