ABSTRACT
This study is to conduct research on the roles of vocational education in the economic development of Oredo Local Government Area.. The research questions raised for the study was: to determine the knowledge, historical development of vocational education, the current state of vocational education in Oredo LGA, the perceived benefits and challenges and how can vocational education in Oredo LGA contribute to economic development and reduce unemployment in the region. The study adopted the survey research design. The instrument for data collection was a questionnaire; it was built around the research question by the researcher and validated by the researcher’s supervisor. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics by means of simple frequency and percentage.
