 This study discusses the role of the church in humanitarian activities using Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) as a case study. It looked into an historical perspective of the relief ministry; in which the early church and humanitarian services, the church and humanitarian services in colonial Nigeria and a brief history of faith-based NGO involvement in humanitarian work was discussed. It discusses a brief History of Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) whereby it examines the biography of Pastor Chris, a brief history of Christ Embassy and Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI). It also outlines the role of Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI) through its five partners which include the InnerCity Mission for Children, the Volunteer Medical Corps, Trauma Care International Foundation, Future Africa Leaders Foundation, and the Bible for All Mission.
