This research was carried out to investigate the role of technology in the high rate of examination malpractice among secondary school students in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area, Edo State. The project highlights the different technological apparatus that has aided examination malpractice among secondary school students in their Certificate Examination, the effect of allowing students of the aforesaid age and class to have access to such technological gadgets while still students and solution to it in other to curb and discourage Examination Malpractice. In this research work, a sample of twenty (25) teachers and seventy-five (75) students were collected by means of simple random sampling techniques from five secondary schools in Ikpoba Okha Local Government. The research instrument used for the study was the teacher’s and student’s perception questionnaire which was validated by the supervisor and used for the collection of data from the respondents.The data collected from respondents were analyzed with distribution tables and simple percentage. At the end of the analysis the study revealed the major role of technology in Examination Malpractice in that it aids students especially in objective texts to play smart in cheating as machineries hired for the purpose solve and upload for the students via the group Whatsapp handles already created for the crime called Malpractice. Equally, access to internet makes it very easy for the machineries that may be teachers in the school or hired personnel to google questions that are not familiar.
