ABSTRACT
This study was aimed at finding the Role of Teaching practice on Teacher education programme in Nigerian universities,University of Benin as case study.
Descriptive survey method was used in the study which aims to ascertain the role that teaching practice plays in teacher education programmes. The questionnaire is the most commonly used data collection tool and the researcher utilised it for collecting data. The researcher represented the respondents' answers to a specific research question using a frequency count and a straightforward percentage in presenting data.The study's analysis was conducted using the information gathered from the answers of the participants.
The findings of the study revealed that teaching practice played an important role in the Teacher Education programme in every Nigerian universities.
