ABSTRACT
This study examined the role of public-private partnership in public service delivery in Edo State, Nigeria: A study of Oshiomhole and Obaseki’s administration. The objective were to determine the extent to which government partnership with the private sector influence infrastructure between Oshiomhole and Obaseki administration in Edo State, Nigeria; to determine the extent to which public private partnership promote public service delivery between Oshiomhole and Obaseki administration in Edo State, Nigeria; as well as to determine the extent to which challenges of public private partnership affect public service delivery in Oshiomhole administration than Obaseki administration.
To achieve the objective of the study, fifty (50) questionnaires were respondents comprises of Azura Power West Africa Ltd and Amaya Capital Ltd, of which the entire fifty (50) copies of the questionnaire were returned successfully and were used for the data analysis and presentation. The hypotheses were tested using chi-square statistical tool.
The results of the analysis revealed thatthere is a significant difference in the mean ratings between management and non-management staff of the selected companies on Oshiomhole and Obaseki administrationgovernment partnership with the private sector and infrastructure in Edo State, Nigeria; that there is a significant difference in the mean ratings between management and non-management staff of the selected companies on Oshiomhole and Obaseki administration in public private partnership toward promoting public service delivery in Edo State, Nigeria; and that there is a significant difference in the mean ratings between management and non-management staff of the selected companies of the challenges of public private partnership in improving the public service delivery between Oshiomhole and Obaseki administration.
In line with these findings, the researcher recommended that there should be continuity of viable policies, whenever there are changes in administrations.
