The data was collected using the questionnaire, instrument was validated and analyzed using descriptive statistics-frequency, simple percentage and mean scores.

The study revealed that the role of PTA has an effect on the management of secondary schools as it partially improves the general administration of secondary schools and therefore promotes development. It was therefore concluded that the PTA do not actually act to perform the functions for which it was formed thereby making the role of PTA doubtful in the management of secondary schools in Udu local government area of Delta state. The study recommended that parents and teachers should be actively involved in the education and welfare of their children(students) in school.
