ABSTRACT
Medical negligence is a pressing issue in Nigeria, impacting patient safety and trust in the healthcare system. This research examines the legal framework, institutional mechanisms, and regulatory measures concerning medical negligence in Nigeria. Through a comprehensive analysis, this study aims to identify the challenges in regulating physicians' conduct and proposes recommendations for enhancing medical negligence laws and curbing its prevalence. The research employs a mixed-method approach, incorporating legal analysis, case studies, and comparative research to assess the effectiveness of current regulations and propose improvements. The findings contribute to the understanding of medical negligence regulation in Nigeria and offer actionable insights for policymakers, healthcare practitioners, and legal professionals to improve patient care and uphold medical ethics.
