ABSTRACT
Festival in Africa is an expressive way to show and celebrate our glorious heritage, culture and tradition. Festival has a way of bringing people together. It has a way of uniting different people from different places (home and abroad), religion, economic and social background. Festivals in Africa are celebrated with dances, songs, music, masquerade display and other dramatic displays. In the celebration of festival, dance is used to express the idea of what the festival is about. Dance has a role it plays in the festival and it comes with accompaniment of music, songs and others. This project highlights the role of the Idju dance in the Eha-Eravwe festival of the Agbarha-otor people in Delta State.
