SUMMARY

Findings in the study shows that one or more Substance’ abuse, mental health, HIV and other diseases could trigger suicide thought in tertiary institutions. Finding also show that the death of a dear one or excessive corporal punishment by lecturers could trigger the suicidal thought among students in tertiary institution. Excessive application of corporal punishment by lecturers can motivate student to commit suicide.

Finding also shows that suicide also have a way of tarnishing the image of any tertiary institution when it occurs especially within the school environs. It in one way or the other bring shame and disgrace to the school i.e bring down the reputation of the institution.  It can cause a lot of things to include brain damage, damage vital organs in the body.
