ABSTRACT
This final chapter accumulates all the findings from the preceding chapters, providing an analysis of both the successes and failures in Kofi Annan's approach to the Rwanda Crisis. It will draw implications for future crisis management in Africa, offering recommendations to enhance the role of African personalities in crisis resolution.
The complex nature of the Rwanda Crisis necessitates a critical evaluation of Kofi Annan's approach. Successes, such as his diplomatic efforts in negotiating ceasefires and initiating peace talks, underscore Annan's diplomatic shrewdness. However, failures, particularly the delayed and insufficient deployment of UN peacekeeping forces, highlight systemic challenges and limitations.
